So one night recently I stayed up late writing a sermon. Well, not a real sermon.
My idea was that the piece of writing could become the basis of a song, so I approached a couple of talented musicians and they were onboard with the idea.
What they created is amazing – reminiscent of Depeche Mode or Bauhaus’ Peter Murphy, maybe. Singer Blair Dean contributed his growling croon, and MMA provided his distinctively shimmering industrial throb. Tongues Are Speaking is a dark wave synth song that stays true to the original piece of writing – taking on prosperity theology and all of its problematic promises.
I am so pleased to be part of this project.
